When asking yourself can dogs eat strawberries, don’t forget to ask yourself what kind of strawberries should my dog eat? I always buy organic when I feed my fur kids anything.
Strawberries being the major motivating factor in why I do this for my dog. The U.S. Department of Agriculture ran a test on several different vegetables and fruits to check the amounts of pesticides used in them.
Strawberries and Spinach ranked the highest out of all the other fruits and vegetables.

So why are organic strawberries for dogs, better? Well pesticides can have serious health effects on you, your dog and the environment.

HOW CAN DOGS EAT STRAWBERRIES
You can feed strawberries for dogs in a variety of different ways. You can wash them and cut them up in slices like I do for my little girl.

STRAWBERRY RECIPES FOR DOGS
My other ways I feed her strawberries, in small amounts
FRUIT LEATHER STRIPS
Ingredients:
1 pound of organic strawberries
Directions:
Cut tops off strawberries. Put in blender and puree until smooth. Pour mixture on a baking mat, on top of a cookie sheet pan
Bake at lowest setting 170-200 degrees for 6 to 8 hours.
Cut into strips and I eat this for myself and feed her little pieces as treats.
Can last in the fridge in a plastic bag for a week or two.
SUMMER STRAWBERRY DOG CHILLER BONE TREATS
Ingredients:
1/4 – 1/2 Cup Organic Strawberries
1 Cup Organic Kefir
*Can also add ice to the mix
(kefir contains pro and pre-biotics that can be beneficial to your dog’s gut bacteria)
Directions:
Put ingredients into blender and mix until smooth.
Then pour into
Freeze for a couple hours and then de-mold.
You can store these treats in a plastic bag in your freezer for a month or so and I give her one or two every once in a while.
